Guidance from Biblical Principles
We believe “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17). We approach life’s problems from a Biblical point of view, with the understanding that theology covers the same scope of disciplines that psychology does but offers God’s answers rather than man’s. This is done through a process of coming alongside the individual or family, seeking to understand before speaking, (Prov. 18:13, 20:5) then offering help in a gentle, gracious and straightforward manner (Eph. 4:13).
For families affected by disability
Families affected by disability face life struggles as everyone else with the added burdens that accompany disability. Grief, fatigue, hopelessness and pain are commonly expressed through a variety of symptoms including depression, anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome, spiritual emptiness and more. These issues may lead to personal, marital and family difficulties. We offer personal, marital and family counseling to address improving communication, , spiritual, personal and interpersonal growth and when needed, forgiveness and reconciliation tools.
and Life Coaching for the challenges we face.
Sometimes deeper issues are less critical than just figuring out how to juggle all the daily life details that disability adds is overwhelming and stressful by itself. With Life Coaching, we help with situational analysis, goal setting, creating margin and support systems. Coaching is done in person or via phone, Skype, text or email.
Costs
Philosophy
Our desire is to offer affordable, experienced Christian counseling to families impacted by disability.
We understand that many families affected by disability have constraints on their finances. This can make paying for Biblical counseling difficult if not impossible. We seek to provide counseling at minimal cost to those families. We are able to do this by partnering with both financial partners and prayer partners to underwrite this ministry. We only require integrity on the part of families seeking counseling so that those who can pay something will do so, thus becoming co-partners by supporting other families who cannot afford help.
Rates
Everyone must pay at least $10/hour for counseling. Paying a fee, though minimal, insures that the investment of time on everyone’s part with not be taken for granted and thus wasted, which would not be godly stewardship. Note that standard rates for Christian counseling typically range from $45 to $100/hour. Families seeking counseling should keep this range in mind when assessing their ability to pay.
